A remembered life
Samuel Brooks spent much of his life in Hamilton teaching music to children, retirees, and anyone brave enough to pick up an instrument for the first time. He had a patient way of counting time, correcting gently, and celebrating small progress. His community classes became a place where shy students found confidence and neighbors became friends. Samuel enjoyed black coffee, old jazz records, and handwritten notes tucked into music books. His family remembers his discipline, his warm laugh after rehearsals, and the belief he carried that music could make ordinary rooms feel less lonely.
